Build a medical sales interview evidence file, or brag book
Select relevant achievements, annotate ownership and keep confidential or fictional material from becoming misleading proof.
An evidence file should make a few relevant achievements easier to understand. Start with the responsibilities you want to support, then select permitted evidence. More pages do not automatically make a stronger case.
Ask whether the interviewer wants the material and follow the preferred sharing process. A file supports the conversation; it does not replace clear answers.
Annotate each item
Include the claim, period, scope, personal contribution, result and limitation. A document without that context can be easy to misread.
Fictional example: “Annual commercial-services performance: $1.2 million revenue against a $1 million target, or 120% attainment. The portfolio included existing and new accounts. My contribution was prospecting and customer coordination; operations delivered implementation.”
This is a teaching example, not a result to copy. For your own page, use verified facts and disclose only what you are permitted to share. An internal dashboard or CRM export may contain information that does not belong in an interview pack.
Choose different kinds of evidence carefully
| Item | What it can demonstrate | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Achievement summary | Supported result and contribution | Do not claim every team outcome |
| Learning example | How you learned and used feedback | Do not imply an unearned credential |
| Original practice case | Your reasoning with fictional inputs | Do not present it as actual client work |
Changing a customer name does not automatically make confidential information shareable. Use an appropriate aggregate summary or choose a different example when necessary.
Keep the order useful
Open with a short contents page tied to the role. Put the strongest relevant evidence first. Keep a shorter version ready for a limited conversation and be prepared to explain each item without reading it aloud.
An early-career candidate's file may be smaller and based on projects, work and learning examples. It should not mimic an experienced seller's record through invented quotas.
A final review
Ask whether every page supports a real responsibility, whether the facts are accurate, whether ownership is clear and whether sharing is permitted. Remove unsupported testimonials, customer identifiers and decorative pages that add no information.
The brag-book preparation kit includes blank and completed annotation templates. Start with the free evidence worksheet if you have not yet checked the facts behind your claims.
